John Cox is dead, killed in an explosion while at work. His younger sister Hayley can`t believe he`s gone. Cross, Gillian

Gillian Cross z domu Arnold ur. 24 grudnia 1945 w Londynie – brytyjska pisarka, autorka literatury dla dzieci i młodzieży. Ukończyła studia magisterskie w Somerville College, Oxford. Tytuł doktora Doctor of Philosophy uzyskała na University of Sussex. W 1990 otrzymała Carnegie Medal za powieść Wolf, a w 1992 Whitbread Childrens Book Award za The Great Elephant Chase. Pierwsze cztery książki z jej serii Demoniczny dyrektor doczekały się adaptacji telewizyjnej. W 1967 poślubiła Martina Crossa. Para ma czworo dzieci.
