Rick Riordan ur. 5 czerwca 1964 w San Antonio – amerykański pisarz, piszący książki fantasy.
Riordan studiował na Uniwersytecie stanu Teksas, specjalizując się w historii i anglistyce. Przez lata pracował jako nauczyciel. Popularność przyniosła mu seria powieści dla młodzieży, których bohaterem jest nastoletni Percy Jackson, współczesny amerykański chłopiec i jednocześnie syn greckiego boga Posejdona. Dwa pierwsze tomy z tej serii zostały sfilmowane. Jest również autorem serii opartych na mitologii nordyckiej i egipskiej.
